A new sponsor for TeamVodafone in 2008
February 6th 2008 01:34
The eye catching bright red livery of Lowndes’ and Whincup’s TeamVodafone Falcons has had a facelift for the 2008 V8 Supercar championship series, setting off the reflective chrome and black highlights perfectly with a subtle but effective change from the 2007 paint work.
Major sponsor, Vodafone, is still prominent in their support for the team, along with other partners Ford, Dexion and Toshiba, however TeamVodafone has announced the addition of Nokia to the collection which further strengthens the opportunity for cross-promotion. A deal which could prove extremely lucrative all round.
Nokia will also be able to promote its latest technology, handset navigation, with teams and drivers, ensuring cars and drivers will always be able to find their way around the track to the finishing line without getting lost.
Lowndes and Whincup are enthusiastic about their newest sponsor and looking forward to blowing all the other teams out of the water in 2008. "This is set to be the strongest year yet for Triple Eight," said Lowndes. "Continuity and momentum is everything - both Jamie and I plan to head the field from the outset in our new Falcons!"
"The new livery is stunning; the car maintains its strong visual concept from 2007 but has been beefed up with the addition of even more chrome and striking black lines, as well as a mean looking front guard."
Whincup agreed stating that, "TeamVodafone and Triple Eight are the hardest working operation in the field, and finishing runner-up three years in row has motivated everyone to step up a notch and grab that elusive series title."
"Everyone is refreshed and ready to go - myself and Craig included. This is sure to be our strongest year and we have a great bunch of people and team partners behind us to help us do the job."
Roland Dane, TeamVodafone co-owner, is excited about the upcoming series and his team’s chances at taking out the title in 2008. "In establishing the team as a leading force in V8 Supercars we have surrounded ourselves with the best possible sponsorship partners and hard-working crew, and the synergy amongst all is very positive," he said.
"We return in 2008 with Craig and Jamie at the helm again, fit and focused and well-poised to challenge for the title from the word go."
"The new look of the TeamVodafone cars symbolises a greater hunger for victory in this competitive category, the one I believe is the toughest touring car series in the world."
