A second annual open day for Britek Motorsport
September 4th 2007 00:39
There’s another chance for Melbourne V8 Supercars fans to get up close and personal with stars of the series when Britek Motorsport holds its arms out wide and embraces the people who have supported drivers Jason Bright and Alan Gurr, by holding their second annual open day.
Britek Motorsport are located in Dandenong South and will be showcasing both their V8 Supercar teams and cars, and their entries in the Australian Rally Championships. Fans will get the chance to tour the facility, buy merchandise, including used racing car panels, and meet the teams.
There will be messages and displays from the team’s sponsors, displays and information on Ford and karting clubs and the chance for children to have their face painted to look like Jason Bright before digging in to a freshly barbequed sausage sandwich.
Fans of V8 Supercars will get to meet team owner and principal driver Jason Bright, pilot of the #25 Fujitsu Ford, and Alan Gurr, driver of the #26 IRWIN Racing Falcon. Also present will be endurance signings, Adam Macrow and Warren Luff.
Followers of the Australian Rally Championships will have a special opportunity to meet Michael Guest and Darren Windus from the Pirtek Rally Team along with their Ford Fiesta Super 2000 cars, the only Super 2000 versions of the Fiesta in the world.
"It is the second time we've opened the doors to the public, after a very successful event last year," said Jason Bright.
"This will be an excellent opportunity for not only fans, but I'm sure the wider community who will enjoy looking inside a professional racing organisation.
"This is a great time to hold our Open Day. The following weekend is a very busy time for us with the all-important Sandown 500 for the V8s, plus we have the Great Lakes Rally in New South Wales.
"Our business relies on fan support and this is why the Britek Motorsport Open Day is an excellent way to give back to our supporters."
Britek Motorsport is located at 291-295 Abbotts Road Dandenong South. There is plenty of parking at the facility with fans advised to follow parking directions on the day.
