Courtney gets the blues
January 19th 2008 01:20
The successful partnership between Stone Brothers Racing, Jeld-wen Motorsport and James Courtney will continue into 2008. It was confirmed yesterday that a new agreement has been made between the interested parties with the only change being a brand new paint job for the number 4 Falcon.
“As a marketing initiative, our partnership with James and SBR for the past two years has worked very effectively to introduce the JELD-WEN brand to Australia and position the iconic brands of Stegbar, Corinthian, William Russell, Airlite and Regency Screens as the first choice for Australian builders and homeowners across the country,” said Jeld-wen’s National Marketing Manager Bruce Tosello.
“We’ve changed the livery for 2008 as we have the past two years to give the car a fresh look for a new season. This year the primary colours are the blue tones synonymous with the JELD-WEN global branding and we’re very happy with they way it has come together. We’re confident and believe it will look particularly good when James takes his first race win this season!”
Tosello isn’t the only one excited about the coming championship series in 2008. Co-owner of SBR Ross Stone is happy to see the continuation of a partnership that has proven favourable to all concerned and is positive that Courtney will excel in the V8 Supercar Championship in 2008.
“We have been involved with JELD-WEN for the past two years and with Stegbar for a number of years before that. They have been both professional and supportive in their approach to motor sport at all times,” Stone said.
“SBR and JELD-WEN are more than confident that we can step up and challenge for the title this year.”
“We have had some success with James for JELD-WEN with two Bathurst podiums and other podium positions at Oran Park, the Clipsal 500 Adelaide and the Desert 400 in Bahrain but we believe that there is a lot more in the tank.
“SBR has taken the opportunity to create a fresh and positive approach to 2008. We have appointed David Stuart as Team Manager and put together a new engineering team. Everyone is back from the break refreshed and keener than ever to go racing.”
