Dancing With the Stars goes racy
September 27th 2007 13:10
Ford driver James Courtney has been selected to participate in the latest season of Network Seven’s hit show, Dancing With the Stars, and has performed with honour under pressure in this weeks first episode.
Courtney strutted his stuff, finishing an impressive joint third after the judges scoring on Tuesday and making a relieved racing car driver smile.
"I felt calm before I went on stage and then I panicked for the first five steps," said Courtney.
"Then everything came together because we've been training so much in recent weeks. Like everyone else I was just pleased to get through the first dance and not make too many big errors."
"We performed after Bridie (Carter) and that was a bit of a worry because she did a fantastic job and I wasn't sure if the judges would give another good score for whoever came next," said Courtney.
"There was some anticipation waiting for our score, and I was pleased a little surprised at how the judges rated us. Olya (Bourtasova, Courtney’s professional dancing partner) did a great job with the choreography."
Many a celebrity has fallen fowl of the Cha Cha, James’ introductory routine, but even the most cynical Holden supporter had to admit that Ford’s Twinkle Toes Courtney did a good job on his first sojourn onto the dance floor.
But there was no stopping to taste victory and dance on the graves of his rivals, as Courtney immediately joined the JELD-WEN team on the Gold Coast for a test session at Queensland Raceway in preparation for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 in October.
Dancing With the Stars is back next Tuesday on Channel Seven where James will be grooving along and, hopefully, will stick around for a few more weeks to come.

Hi JoH
Like I said, I'm a Holden supporter not Ford but even I would like to see him do well as well.
You said it all ... Go James!
Thanks for dropping in, JoH.
